Instructional Technologist    
 
Cardinal Stritch University is seeking to fill the position of Instructional Technologist. This individual will provide proactive outreach and support to faculty by developing and implementing technology learning applications in various media, venues and formats. As a member of the information technology team, the position will collaborate with other technology areas and support units of the University to assist in the creation of online courses, both synchronous and asynchronous.
                                   
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
·         Work with others to design and develop training programs that assist and support faculty in the development of appropriate teaching and learning strategies utilizing instructional technologies. Duties include assisting faculty members in the analysis, design and development of effective instructional programs.
 
·         Provide technical support of multimedia, learning management systems (Angel) and collaborative learning applications and tools.
 
·         Assist faculty in the development of new media applications and redesign of existing course content to adapt for online learning environments.
 
·         Organize and teach faculty effective evaluation procedures to assess reaction to and use of instructional technology in course materials.
 
Qualifications
 
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work comfortably in teams. Individual must have knowledge of emerging technologies as related to instruction and experience with instructional design theory and technology as well as web technologies, multimedia applications and distributed and/or distance technologies. Proficiency in learning management systems( ANGEL), web authoring or similar tools with the ability to create online educational materials. Must have awareness of usability and accessibility considerations in instructional design and experience in project management, including managing time, establishing priorities, meeting milestones and deliverables.
 
Education and/or Experience
 
A Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field is preferred. Two years work experience in areas such as designing instructional materials for online courses, experience with the implementation of educational software, ability to troubleshoot hardware/software problems relating to instructional technologies.
