Major/Essential Duties of Job: Project Management Consulting: Provide technical oversight and training for an information technology project management office consultative service and support to customers using project management guidelines, methodologies, tools, and templates for software application development and implementation projects. Provide technical oversight and training for conducting research of information technology project management problems and the formulation of recommended solutions for customers. Provide technical guidance for the maintenance of expertise on information technology project management. Provide technical guidance for the advice and education given to customers on information technology project management policies, practices, and procedures. Provide technical guidance for the advice and education given to customers on the use of information technology project management software applications. Develop standards and procedures for the development and maintenance of printed and web-based information technology project management information for customer use. Provide technical oversight and training for conducting surveys of new information technology project management technologies and the preparation of executive summaries. Core Duties: May coordinate the technical activities of a project team. Complete reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports. Serve as a senior member of an information resource team responsible for setting technical direction. Perform all or some of the duties of a Senior Information Technology Consultant. Participate in training and professional development activities. Other duties as required. Occasional Duties: Other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of experience may substitute for one year of education. Five years of information technology consulting experience. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Information technology project management experience. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Education and Experience: Master's Degree. Software development and/or implementation experience. Project Management Professional or other project management certification. Proven record of excellence with strong oral and written communication skills. Self motivation and the ability to work independently to see a project through to completion. Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Information technology project management experience. |
