DUTIES: Serve as liaison between Information Technology (IT) and Campus Construction and Planning (CCP); maintain technology infrastructure components of construction project as-built plans; review infrastructure designs, specifications, and contractor submittals to ensure compliance with University IT standards and expectations, project scopes of work and budget constraints; collaborate on the implementation of infrastructure standards; manage and track completion of IT tasks for compliance with project schedules and budgets; review, track, and approve the work of IT design consultants, contractors, and vendors; review and approve project invoices in cooperation with CCP project managers; budget for, track and report on IT related expenditures; develop and disseminate project updates to stakeholders; support the operational technology needs of CCP; ensure projects comply with developed standards and industry best practices, as modified and adopted by the University; perform other related duties as assigned. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or significant trade school training focused on infrastructure design preferred; significant experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements; PMI Certification or equivalent project management experience preferred; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and BICSI Registered Cabling Technician Certification preferred; 5 years of experience in designing and managing a multi-site telecommunications and infrastructure environment; working knowledge of and hands-on experience with TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) in large (1,000+ nodes) LAN's (Local Area Networks); detailed knowledge of internal and inter-building networking and interface media; working knowledge of fiber optic systems, T1/T3, mobile cellular, local and broadband wireless systems and AV technologies; 3 years of experience in project management; strong oral and written communication skills; familiarity with network troubleshooting tools; familiarity with IEEE and BICSI standards; strong skills in reading, understanding, and interpreting (for non-IT staff) IT plans and specifications; exemplary skills in working cooperatively as part of a diverse team of in-house staff, contractors, and consultants; demonstrated proficiency using MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or other related software; demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD preferred; current CA driver's license and proof of liability insurance per CA State Laws.
