Summary Carnegie Mellon's Academic Technology Services group is seeking a Multimedia Designer to join its Media Technology NetMedia and Events Support team, where we provide digital videotaping services for lecture capture, meetings, special events, sporting events for later review or on-demand sharing. This position is involved with digital videography production, post-production of videos, provides basic audio and visual support during an event and multimedia design for digital media, web, and print. This position also recommends and evaluates mediatechnologies in support of media design and production. Participates in project management, collaboration with other members of Computing Services and campus partners in support of enhancing services. Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in art/design or a technical field and related experience. ; Two or more years experience in graphics, video, audio production and/or media organizations ; Ability to perform all phases of set-up and operation of digital video equipment and editing software; able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records; ability to interact effectively and courteously with a wide variety of people both within and external to the university. ; ; University offices, auditoriums, classrooms and conference spaces. Routine exposure to computer and audio-visual equipment. May be exposed to hazardous materials, chemicals, etc. Equipment operated has various moving or hot parts and must be operated following all safety procedures. Travel around campus or remote locations, will have to move video and/or computer equipment. ; Ability to work unsupervised; work under pressure with inflexible deadlines; ability to work on several tasks simultaneously; ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult situations or people ; Preferred Requirements Masters degree in graphic design, video production or audio production or related field; Three years experience in customer service and academic setting. ; Additional training and experience in digital productions with a centralized digital workflow.
