DESCRIPTION
The Network Manager will reside at our client site in Cleveland, WI and will manage all network maintenance operations at the data center. Functions include data center operations, LAN/WAN architecture, server and network hardware, software, and applications, and SQL Server administration. The Network Manager will provide technical leadership and networking and operating system expertise. The Network Manager will provide project management, serve as an escalation resource for network issues, and provide backup DBA services for SQL Server. Specific areas of focus include network design, WAN connectivity, security analysis/design and implementation, network management, definition and coordination of standards, project management, technology research, DBA, and applicable documentation.

REQUIREMENTS
•Provides technical leadership for data center operations
•Provide expertise in SQL Server database administration as backup to primary DBA
•Provides major contributions to infrastructure and customer-based project teams through operational planning, design, deployment and maintenance of platform solutions
•Provides analytical ability and creativity to develop solutions to complex problems
•Develop project plans, evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations on selections
•Provide monthly network statistics for capacity planning and reliability measurement
•Evaluate requirements and design network solutions
•Provide technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture definition
•Maintain efficiency of operations of the current network infrastructure
•Provide standard documentation for network infrastructure
•Provide advance notification of scheduled network down time to client users
•Inform client of planned changes to the network infrastructure or network services and operational impact of those changes
•Maintain network servers, server software, and routers, and firewalls
•Diagnose and correct network problems
•Work closely with Help Desk to resolve network related problems and issues
•Maintain appropriate backups of network servers' operating systems and configurations
•Maintain network access security
•Analyze network performance and make configurations adjustments as necessary
•Publish monthly maintenance schedule for equipment and software, which minimizes systems down time
•Maintain network software license compliance in accordance with College guidelines and funding; report any non-compliance to the CIO immediately
•Monitor the network for viruses and recommend corrective action
•Coordinate equipment and network upgrades with vendors as required
•Make recommendations regarding software-licensing options relevant to client's network operations
•Make recommendations for purchases of network hardware or software
•Manage maintenance contracts for network equipment and software and make recommendations as appropriate
•Make technical recommendations and coordinate standards for delivery of Internet related services including: e-mail, Web services, and other services as required by the client
