The University of Indianapolis seeks applications for the position of Oracle Database Administrator & Banner Application Administrator in Administrative Computing Services. This is an exempt, full-time position. Responsibilities: The Oracle DBA (database administrator) is responsible for the design, installation, patching, upgrading, tuning, monitoring, technical support, and problem resolution for the Oracle databases, SunGard Higher Education Banner System, SunGard Higher Education Operational Data Store (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), the Blackboard learning management system, the Residential Management System (RMS), and the AdAstra Scheduling System. The Banner Administrator is responsible for the installation, patching, upgrading, tuning, and monitoring of the SGHE Banner application system; serves as the senior Banner technical and support person for the programmer/analysts; and serves as the technical liaison for several third-party applications interfaced with Banner, such as the Residential Management System (RMS) and the AdAstra Scheduling System. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Three to five years of DBA experience using Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL. Demonstrated experience with SunGard Higher Education Banner Systems. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service skills (experience in user support). Demonstrated project management/leadership. Organized and detail-oriented. Team player, independent worker, demonstrated analysis and trouble-shooting skills, experience in the Linux or Unix OS environments. Experience in a higher education environment a plus.
