The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, a leading academic health sciences center located on the Texas Gulf Coast, is searching for highly-motivated and enthusiastic candidates for a Senior Applications Systems Analyst position in our Information Services department. UTMB has more than 12,000 employees and 2,000 students in the medical, nursing, allied health and graduate biomedical sciences.

The Senior Applications Systems Analyst will troubleshoot Enterprise wide COTS client-server based Electronic Medical Records (EMR) application issues and upgrade COTS client-server based software in support of 2000 + users across multiple physical locations. Specific duties include application problem resolution, receiving/providing status on assignments via Help Desk tickets and programming/developing/testing/troubleshooting problems with database objects, Packages, Triggers, Procedures, and Functions as they relate to the application.
This Senior ASA should have knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, Development, Test, Production and familiarity with Change Control and Production Control processes

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and two years of relevant work experience. Preferred skills include: Oracle 10G Application Development, Oracle 10G DBA /Data Analyst, SQL and PL/SQL Performance tuning, AIX5L and Windows 2003, Magic Help Desk Software, Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control, UNIX scripting, medical records software application support.
