Summary Responsible to the Assistant Director of Enrollment in Administrative Computing for the design, development, implementation and installation of enterprise applications in support of the management and administration of the University. Minimum Requirements BS Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering or Business; - Eight years experience as a developer and systems analyst - Five years experience with java development and production environments - Five years experience developing complex systems architectures ; - Familiar with current java development best practices - Familiar with Object Oriented Design - Familiar with Database Design Principles (Oracle a Plus) - Familiar with Eclipse Development Environment - Familiar with Web Service Development Standards and Best Practices - Familiar with Unix Operating System ; Ability to sit for extended periods; Close contact with CRT for prolonged periods; Ability to (1) work under pressure; (2) work with potentially demanding or difficult customers; (3) meet inflexible deadlines; (4) handle multiple concurrent tasks; Ability to work effectively in project team environment; evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines; Preferred Requirements M.S. degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering or Business; - Ten years experience as a developer and systems analyst - Eight years experience with java development and production environments - Experience designing and supporting multiple complex system architectures - Experience with multiple java application servers including 1 of: a) TomCat b) WebLogic c) WebSphere - Three Years Experience Developing Web Services ; - Familiar with Service Oriented Architecture - Familiar with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) concepts - Ability to design, architect and build complex business applications ; Ability to mentor and assist team members in java concepts and programming practices; ability to advise on departmental and division technology directions.
