Systems Administrator Level I
 
University of Iowa Health Care Information Systems is searching for a systems administrator to support research in University of Iowa Healthcare. Successful candidates will have a strong desire to learn and explore innovative solutions to information technology problems in a rapidly evolving research driven environment. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Systems administration experience (typically 1-2 years) including detailed knowledge of Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows is required. Experience should include OS and application installation, migration, configuration, upgrades, support, troubleshooting, and scripting. Must be familiar with Microsoft InfoPath and Sharepoint. The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff and must have experience writing technical documentation. Desirable qualifications include IT work experience in a research environment or in any of the following areas: VMware, Sharepoint, Wiki, scripting and system automation, system imaging, Active Directory, tablet computers, multi-site research studies.
