SYSTEMS ANALYST III
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer a Master's Degree.
Experience: Four or more years of job related experience. Preferred qualifications: Two years working knowledge of Oracle 9 relational database management system, Oracle Forms (6 required,9i preferred) SQL, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL; experience using structured programming languages; code testing, Windows XP, MS Office Suite, and application tuning experience. Excellent team, communication, and problem solving skills required. Working knowledge of the UNIX command language and shell scripting; web development skills to include HTML, Java and ColdFusion; Oracle Developer Suite 10g; Oracle Pro*C; Sungard's Banner Student Information System. Experience within a college/university environment setting desired. Experience in a Professional Education (Continuing Education) environment a plus. Selection process will include a background check.
Duties: This position will be involved with the development and support of local enhancements to SungardHE's Banner Student Information System and related systems at Georgia Tech. Duties will include the design of technical solutions, development, testing, and documentation of software for locally required enhancements. Development activities will include writing interfaces between Banner and other local or purchased computer systems. Determine and resolve system and program problems, write technical and operational documentation and provide technical support and training assistance to system users. Advise and direct activities, test, and review the work of other team analysts, when necessary. Analyze user requirements; determine definitions and design specifications. Develop programs, modify programs, develop unit test plans, test, troubleshoot and resolve production issues and implement computer systems/programs. Write technical/operational/user documentation. Provide technical level of effort for projects. Participate in development of software standards and guidelines
