Description:

SUMMARY
Provide administrative software system support and maintenance/enhancement. Support existing applications for admission/prospects, student records, financial aid, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, advancement and human resources/payroll. Provide administrative software maintenance/development by encoding, testing, troubleshooting, refining, and installing programs and systems to satisfy user output requirements.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide administrative software system support including coding, testing, documenting, troubleshooting, refinement & installation of programs/systems to satisfy user requirements.
Work with the Director to develop problem statements and modification/enhancement specifications.
Translate problem statements and specifications into programming languages.
Code computer programs using Datatel’s Envision toolkit, Colleague Studio or Unibasic.
Develop program module test procedures, generate required test data files, and execute testing procedures.
Revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary to reduce operating problems, expedite processing, and maximize systems efficiency.
Prepare system and programming documentation for users and other programmers/analyst in accordance with internal and external standards.
Provide analysis of data/information for routine and special reports.
Responsible for administrative system data archives.
Train administrative system users as required.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field; three to five years systems analysis and programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Datatel’s Colleague or Benefactor support experience or previous administrative support in higher education is preferred.
