General Description: Performs technical student services support using the SCT Banner and related software programs. This includes writing and executing population selections, letter generation extracts, daily data load process from the federal and state governments, running and printing reports, and trouble shooting error messages and error reports.

Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and/or equivalent combination of experience and education [required].
2. Working experience in a computer related position [required]. College level computer course work could be substituted for experience.
3. Experience using relational database software.
4. Acceptable eyesight (with/without correction aid).
5. Must not be in default on a Federal Student Loan or in overpayment of a Federal Grant.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Advanced knowledge of computers and Microsoft computer software.
2. Ability to understand how technology can contribute to a learning centered environment.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Create and maintain validation and rule tables within the prospect module of the SCT Banner software.
2. Run series of daily processes to bring data from external web sources and using FTP software load data into the SCT Banner software.
3. Set up letter generation table information and write population selections using basic SQL logic.
4. Design and run steps to produce printed and e-mailed communication for students and record date in GUIMAIL
tables where appropriate.
5. Provide ideas and suggestions for ways to improve technical support for prospective student services. Assist
staff with technical problems affecting grant reporting and prospective student service.
6. Write and run population selections and letter generation using basic SQL logic.
7. Create and troubleshoot simple to complex SQL rules that produce population selections.
8. Implement and test new and upgraded software in support of SCT Banner.
9. Report error messages, conflicts and system defects and assist with finding solutions. Make decisions when reviewing
systems output about results that may be indicators of a problem.
10. Assist staff with technical problems before they log help desk calls.
11. Work with Help Desk and other OIT staff to coordinate software installations, new PC set up, and repair work. Maintain department PC inventory.
12. Provide input into web content, design and communication plans.
13. AppWorx automation tool - create, test and implement automated steps to replace the routine manual processing. Make decisions to determine what conditions must be met by each step in the multi-step automated job string before the next step will execute. Monitor scheduled jobs, investigate and solve aborted jobs, monitor and revise job schedules based on academic calendar needs.
14. Other duties as assigned.
