Chartered in 1869, Boston University is one of the leading private research and teaching institutions in the world. The position of Vice President for Information Systems & Technology and Chief Information Officer offers a great opportunity for a senior-level information technology executive to join a dynamic leadership team with a compelling and far reaching vision for Boston University’s role in a global economy. The position serves on the President’s University Administrative Council and University Leadership Council, and has broad organizational responsibility encompassing management and oversight of administrative computing, instructional technology, and infrastructure technology and services supporting the Charles River Campus and the Boston University Medical Campus. The Vice President for Information Systems & Technology and Chief Information Officer must be a visionary leader with a strong executive presence; be a strong communicator, collaborator and relationship builder; have the ability to support executive-level decision making on IT issues; and be an active advisor to the leadership team of the University and its Colleges. The new VP IS&T/CIO must be able to lead strategic planning and prioritization efforts, manage organizational change and build strong working relationships with the faculty, staff, and students. S/he should have demonstrated success in delivering service to customers and driving large complex projects to successful conclusions. Boston University is about to embark on an ambitious project to replace its enterprise-level information systems with modern ERP systems. The Vice President will play a key role in ensuring the success of this critical project as part of a Business-IT collaborative team.
