Description:

The web content administrator, under the direction of the ITSS Manager of Web Services, develops and edits the college web pages and coordinates the implementation and maintenance of the college web pages to ensure a consistency of look and content in order to provide a centralized presentation and dissemination of information designed to effectively promote the college, its activities, and accomplishments.

Essential Duties
  • Serve as primary point of contact and resource for departments college-wide regarding the content and appearance of department web pages
  • Administer the College's Content Management System, control access and workflow, review sites/pages for adherence and conformity to editorial and design standards including ADA section 508 compliance - and resolve related problems
  • Administer the College's Banner Portal
  • Train content managers and content administrators            
General Duties
  • Develop and edit main college web sites and pages
  • Serve as liaison with personnel campus-wide to identify and resolve web page related problems
  • Review all college web sites and associated pages, identify web pages that are inappropriate or deemed to be in poor taste and report them to the Marketing & Communications Department
  • Administer sites analytics
  • Optimize the College's site rankings on search engines
  • Optimize the overall College's website presence and visibility
  • Train the content managers and content administrators on how to effectively use the Content Management System, and on good web design techniques (page layout, use of graphics, etc...)
  • Develop/update training manuals
  • Design graphics to enhance web pages
  • Develop flash based animations and videos
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Proficiency in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS 2 and 3)
  • Proficiency in HyperText Markup Language and competent in JavaScript
  • Web design/development experience including management/updates to busy web site
  • Commercial Content Management Systems
  • Adobe CS4 (Acrobat Pro, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in computer-related field
  • ASP.Net knowledge/experience (C#)
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP, XML)
  • Structured Query Language
  • ColdFusion Programming
  • Flash ActionScript
  • Program and project management experience
  • Ability to create and lead effective projects
  • Prior higher education experience
  • Marketing experience
  • Experience or education in at least two of the following areas: web design for instruction, web site design and management, instructional technology development and implementation, project management
  • Understanding Search Engine Optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of audio/video streaming
SalarySalary starting at $4,583.33 / month. For instructional positions in particular, additional compensation may be possible with teaching overloads, special assignments, etc. Actual salary placement will be dependent upon education and experience.
Fringe BenefitsFull-time faculty positions receive paid sick leave, group health and life insurance with College cost participation, a State retirement program, and academic recesses in accordance with the College calendar.

Administrative positions receive paid sick leave, paid annual leave, ten paid holidays per year, group health and life insurance with College cost participation, and a State retirement program.
