Description:

Serves as a senior computer professional for the Spears School of Business web presence. Commits to ownership of the Spears web site and its advancement. Responsible for keeping web content updated, working closely with departments and centers, and marketing and communications coordinator. Interfaces with or replaces legacy systems, stays current on new technologies and suggests enhancements to the functionality and usefulness of existing web sites. Implements web site improvements/changes, ensures compliance with applicable legal requirements and OSU System policies on web site usage, security, and standards. Maintains and provides a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner that is respectful of students, co-workers, supervisors, customers, and clients. Provides timely, practical, and/or creative solutions for web presence needs. Minimum requirements include a bachelor degree in computer science, MIS, or electrical and computer engineering, three years of computing experience, and one year of web design experience. Position requires technical skill set including: (1) good PHP coding skills - very high emphasis; (2) good HTML coding skills - high emphasis; (3) working knowledge of Linux file systems and permissions - low emphasis; (4) experience working with an Apache web server (scripting, dot files, modules and handlers) - low emphasis; (5) experience administering and using Joomla CMS (prefer Joomla template development experience) - moderate emphasis; (6) experience with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - very high emphasis; (7) graphic design experience - low to moderate emphasis; (8) work experience using any object oriented or procedural programming language preferred - low emphasis; (9) experience with a relational DBMS. Preferred an individual with the ability to: work effectively with individuals and teams; work creatively and follow detailed instructions when required; work efficiently and manage several jobs simultaneously; possess excellent communication and demonstrated organizational skills; be customer service focused with attention to detail and high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas. Will work closely with Coordinator of Marketing and Communications.
