Abstract:Successfully addressing the needs of distance learners means adopting a holistic approach to distance education. The Institute for Distance and Distributed Learning at Virginia Tech employs a holistic approach, where all aspects of a student's educational experience are considered, thus assuring that student needs are met with quality support services.
