Abstract:The University of California Berkeleyis Information Systems and Technology division developed a service approach to meeting the challenge of providing off-campus Internet access to more users from wherever they access the campus network at a reasonable cost, while maintaining quality control over services and support. For this service-oriented approach, the University received the 1996 CAUSE Award for Best Practices in Service.
