Abstract:Most organizations have unmanaged servers. Some of these systems are scattered throughout campus, beyond the reach of central IT. Others exist inside the central campus data center. Regardless, the university is responsible for these machines. This presentation recalls how lessons learned at a university which suffered a significant security breach were applied by another university's CIO.
