Abstract:In the rapidly changing computer technology environment, IT departments must often make choices about services being offered. In this presentation, we will discuss how to balance letting go of old technologies for something new as we discuss how Baylor University is progressing in retiring an eight- year-old web server. We will discuss old and new Web 2.0 technologies we considered, share our services matrix, and describe the solutions we ultimately chose to implement. We will also discuss how to partner with campus departments to implement changes and how to communicate your efforts with your campus.
