Abstract:Facing an increasing demand for e-commerce capabilities, Arizona State University recently implemented a scalable credit card payment facility for our Web applications. Our vision was to design a secure service for any ASU Web application to use. Credit card validation and bank settlement was contracted with Cybercash. Our initial implementation was a new Web Student Accounts Receivable payment application. These Web credit card transactions feed an existing mainframe batch financial legacy application. This presentation will share our design and development approach, plus our challenges and lessons learned.
