Abstract:What does it take to design a network, data centers, and application services to meet a 99.99% availability requirement? No more than six minutes of unplanned downtime in a year! This is not just a focus on the standard administrative systems but on all systems that are critical to teaching and learning. Since March 2008, we have redesigned our network, data centers, and application deployment strategy to meet this goal. Take this opportunity to see the challenges we faced and how we are measuring success.
