Abstract:Elizabeth Daley urges the definition of literacy be expanded to acknowledge the prevalence of the multimedia language of the screen or our everyday lives. Technology is enabling these alternative means of communication to penetrate our live and maintains that to express and interpret oneself the language of multimedia must be considered to be part of the definition.
