Abstract:

Recent research has revealed a considerable lack of systematic, empirical scholarship on the effectiveness of technology-oriented faculty development programs, despite the considerable funds expended on these programs. The retooling of the Digital Media Center's Faculty Fellowship Program (FFP) at the University of Minnesota provided the opportunity to develop from scratch a new, systematic evaluation process grounded in the basic goals, such as promoting campus leadership and organizational awareness. In this panel, we will discuss the purpose and transformation of the FFP, provide an overview of the evaluation development process, and present the results from the first two cycles of instrument administration.
