Abstract:

The presence of lecture capture systems in the educational marketplace is becoming more pronounced. The various companies and institutions promoting them promise that they will transform academia across course delivery formats. This presentation will present evidence from research studies at two distinct institutions regarding the impact of using various lecture capture systems. Data will be presented on variables and outcomes related to the decision making needs of students, faculty, and administrators. We will also discuss how educational institutions can set up research programs to evaluate the effectiveness of their lecture capture systems.
