Abstract:Online discussion supports critical thought by facilitating an adaptive exchange of ideas. This is simply the Socratic method brought forward to a new environment and made scaleable through technology. We will identify the unique characteristics of online discussions, define the requirements for successful facilitation, and engage in illustrative "minds-on" exercises.
