Abstract:Technologies are created or enhanced with such speed, that there is little time for data processing professionals to explore all of the new and different areas in the information systems' world. However, these professionals must receive training in order to keep pace with developing technology and meeting the ever increasing demands of their information systems' end-users. We have been challenged by the resistance of the experienced professional who does not want to adapt to changes; finding the time to train, given the massive demands of our profession; and meeting all of these needs with a limited budget. In this presentation we will explain how we motivated a sometimes reluctant staff, found the time and the resources to create a training program and found creative funding alternatives through college and vendor partnerships.
