Abstract:Just as campuses have adapted their networks and systems to accommodate laptop computers, a new wave of highly mobile, always-on devices such as the iPhone and other smartphones are arriving. How can we support the influx of smartphones? How do we leverage the power of mobility to improve services and learning? How do we secure our networks and support academic integrity in an era of pervasive devices whenfaculty do not know whether a student is online or not? This panel will explore the challenges of pervasive mobility and provide some case studies in campus support for smartphones.
