Abstract:Clickers as in-class devices have proven remarkably effective in enabling just-in-time teaching and assessment in the classroom, yet this model requires the student to carry a dedicated device that is limited to classroom polling sessions. The University of Southern California has developed and is implementing SMS-based and web-enabled polling options to build on the success of clickers without the device-centric limitations of clicker technologies.
