Topics:Information Literacy
Origin:Annual Conferences (2001)
Type:Presentations and Seminars
Abstract:Now that information literacy (IL) is an established priority, it is time to review the concept. This presentation will critique the information processing paradigm on which the IL model is based, and review the alternative "literacies" (visual, multiple, interactive, computational) that are under consideration for required competencies today. The need to fit information literacy into workplace competencies for knowledge workers will also be explored.
