Abstract:

 This ECAR research bulletin discusses the costs of preventing data loss in terms of people, processes, and technology. It focuses on principles to guide decision making in higher education and discusses security solutions that can help protect data and guard against losing it. By way of illustration, the bulletin highlights Georgia State University’s initiatives to prevent data losses.
