Abstract:This paper describes the development of the project, U-M Online. U-M Online is an information and communication network for alumni and other remote-access constituents of the University of Michigan. This paper focuses on identifying the technology needs of the alumni, coordinating the components needed to build the infrastructure, including software licensing and development, accounting and billing, Web security technology, Web site development, pricing and packaging, marketing and communications.
