Abstract:The simple, open, standards-based protocols that comprise Web services create new possibilities for using technology to support research, learning, and administrative work. Web services let us focus on people and process, rather than systems and technology. This presentation will offer a nontechnical overview of Web services, plus some real working examples of Web services at the University of British Columbia.
