Sponsorship and Sponsors

ECAR invites a small number of EDUCAUSE corporate members to become ECAR sponsors. Corporations will find value in an ECAR sponsorship because corporations benefit not only from access to up-to-date research about higher education but also from interaction with leading institutions. Corporations will receive the same timely research as their customers receive, have a voice in the establishment of annual ECAR research priorities, and interact directly with higher education leaders at ECAR events. ECAR will also provide corporations with an opportunity to post corporate white papers on our Web site, ensuring wider visibility among higher education institutions. Corporate sponsors of ECAR will also receive private research briefings from the ECAR leadership, fellows, and research contractors. And of course, ECAR corporate sponsors will be recognized publicly and frequently for their support of this critical initiative.

Below is a summary of the services available to corporate sponsors for their annual contribution. ($35,000 EDUCAUSE members/$70,000 nonmembers)

Research studies

The major ECAR products are research studies and analyses. Four studies are published annually, reflecting substantial research efforts of strategic importance to higher education such as networking trends, IT funding, student and faculty use of technology, IT security, and e-learning.

Research bulletins

These frequent electronic updates provide credible, thoughtful, and timely analysis of key IT developments and illustrate their impact on higher education. Research bulletins are concise, insightful treatments of current topics that may range from products and services to policy and legislation.

Roadmaps

ECAR roadmaps synthesize important information technology issues and provide recommendations for action in higher education. The content draws from ECAR research studies and case studies. ECAR roadmaps are available to the public.

Annual symposium

The annual symposium is a subscribers-only event during which the results of the previous year's research are reviewed. Plans for the following year are previewed as well. The symposium brings a select group of interested organizations together for interaction, discussion, and discovery. Attendance is limited to higher education subscribers and corporate sponsors.

Private briefing

ECAR corporate sponsors are provided with one private briefing on the research study of their choice. Briefings may be for internal or external audiences and are designed to allow corporations to understand and explore topics in greater depth.

Private consultation

Corporate sponsors are entitled to one day of consultation with ECAR staff on a topic of the corporation's choice (for example, product plans, marketing strategies, and customer attitudes).

Access to ECAR fellows

Sponsors are provided with inquiry access to pose questions to senior fellows about research studies, ECAR updates, or background material.

Specialized workshops and focus sessions

ECAR sponsors have access to specialized ECAR workshops. These interactive sessions allow groups of knowledgeable individuals to examine research topics in depth. Workshops use a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that multiple perspectives are brought to issues.

Subscriber Web site

All ECAR information is made available on the ECAR Web site. Reports, research updates, the ECAR research agenda, and information about subscriber-only events are posted to this site.

Note: Corporate sponsors do not have access to ECAR events or materials licensed to ECAR for the exclusive benefit of higher education institutions.

If your company has an interest in information technology in higher education, becoming a corporate subscriber or corporate sponsor will bring you timely information and solid analysis.

If you need accurate information based on research rather than anecdote, subscribe to ECAR. Joining ECAR provides you with a wealth of knowledge and brings you into contact with like-minded customers and organizations—and could be one of the best investments your organization makes.
