NBC Streaming Media Veteran Joins Campus Televideo to Develop IPTV Solutions for Higher Ed
Stamford, CT – Campus Televideo (www.campustelevideo.com), a leading provider of custom cable TV, ResNet data and other telecommunications services to over 240 colleges and universities nationwide, has named Rab Mukraj the company’s chief technology officer. His responsibilities will include leading the company’s development of IP video solutions.
“As the media industry and technology on campuses continues to advance, our customers are increasingly interested in incorporating IP video delivery into their plans,” said Brian Benz, chief executive officer of Campus Televideo. “Rab’s extensive experience pioneering streaming video services will help us better serve our customers with high quality and affordable IP video solutions specifically designed for college campuses.”
“Rab will be working closely with Jerry Barnes, EVP Business Development, who also served as our Interim CTO as we worked to fill the position,” continued Benz. “Moving forward, Jerry will continue to play an integral role in developing new service solutions. Jerry’s deep knowledge of cable TV technology is a perfect complement to Rab’s IP video expertise to lead our company into the future. “
Rab has over 15 years experience pioneering digital media technologies. Prior to joining Campus Televideo, he served in senior technology management roles at Madison Logic and Clear Channel Digital Radio. Before that, he spent 12 years in increasingly senior positions at NBC Universal developing digital video services. Among his many accomplishments at NBC, Rab led the development and launch of the HULU ingest platform, as well as the streaming video platform for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Rab has won several industry awards, is Six Sigma Certified and holds two patents specifically related to video distribution and Digital file based workflows.
