Session Type: In the Hot Seat
Collaboration is touted as everything from a pathway to innovation to a financial must-do, given the current economic climate. Examples of collaboration include joint development projects, shared connectivity, jointly appointed staff, and shared library collections and access. Do the realities match the hype, or is collaboration a time-consuming draw on already constrained resources? Is collaboration a key to innovation? What is your experience?
Video
Live Video and slides from the presentation are being provided through the generous support of Sonic Foundry.
An archive of this video will be available after the session.

#E10_PCP01 If it's about the mission, not the business model (Hamel) how do you deal with different missions of collaborating institution?
#E10_PCP01 Teams need drivers more than collaboration mandates...
#E10_PCP01 Culture changes when the focus is on the mission, not the business model. (note Hamel)
#E10_PCP01 No. What is required is shared mission, benefit and risk. You can't mandate those things. Collaboratiion is active, not passive.
#E10_PCP01 Would you be in favour of a collaboration mandate at your institution?
#E10_PCP01 Encourage socialization to build the culture of collaboration in your IT portfolio.
#E10_PCP01 At EDUCUASE: Collaboration a Must or a Bust -- Olin engages students to keep their content up to date. An option for UofT?
