Session Type: Support Strategies and Services
Theme(s): New and innovative ideas that challenge the status quo, Service management
In this seminar, we will discuss the current needs of faculty and students regarding campus computing spaces and discuss how we can plan for the future of these spaces. We will take into consideration both the physical and virtual aspects of general access labs, instructional labs, learning spaces, and modular approaches, and seek best practices as outcomes for participants.
Given the existing challenges that campuses are facing (shrinking space, budgets, and resources), participants will be challenged to further explore models for computing spaces. We will discuss innovative solutions to labs, student computing, and questions we need to ask as we address issues and proposed solutions. We will plan what the future might hold for computing labs and will discuss a wide variety of solutions while considering the ramifications for our institutions.
