As educational materials become widely available in digital format, there is ongoing pressure to develop distribution models that will properly serve members of higher education. Considering new models of distribution that move students and authors away from the current textbook model will help shape the delivery of educational materials for years to come. The current disruption in the marketplace brought on by the shift to digital is providing a number of opportunities for institutions to consider new models of distribution that will lower costs for students and move learning forward.
