Personal RDIF Tags

OK, this is probably a better idea than the one I had for tattooing bar codes on students.  ;-)  (I'm kidding by the way).  Tommy Thompson, the former head of Health and Human Services has had himself implanted with an RFID tag.  He's doing it to help promote VeriChip, a company whose board he just joined.

I must admit some interest in this.  If I could stop carrying cards around and use an RFID tag to pay for stuff that would be really cool.  Of course I read a story awhile back about a carjacker cutting a guys thumb off in Singapore so that he could take the guy's car (which uses a biometric ignition), so I'd really have to think about where to put the tag...
