Day Three at LTL: Crucial decisionsCreated by Alfredo Calderon-Serrano (Carlos Albizu University) on July 11, 2006
Today a couple of main ideas were covered. One, data used to drive decisions. Interesting ideas presented by Heather and Paul. Specially the idea to present data in such a way that the stakeholders can grasp the idea and understand your message. The Lessons presented are what (I guess) most of us use to think about when working on data gathering to support our projects. The second theme was leadership, effectiveness and accountability. Why have I listed them all together? Just because I think that I good leader has to be effective and be aware that he will be accountability for his success and failures. Today I posed the question, If I was willing to assume a new position that involved more stress. I actually have a Manager and Leader position at my Institution. And after hearing what Gary Auguston had to say about his 24 year experience at Penn State and all the contributions by each and everyone at the Institute my answwer is ... YES. I believe I can be an agent of Change at CAU and I'm looking forward to accept the challenge. So one of my expectations has been met. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
