CNI Podcast: Prediction Markets for Emerging Technology - An Interview with NITLE's Bryan AlexanderCreated by Gerry Bayne (EDUCAUSE) on January 7, 2009
This ninenteen minute podcast features an interview with Bryan Alexander, Director for Research at the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE). It was recorded at the Coalition for Networked Information Fall 2008 Task Force Meeting. The NITLE Prediction Markets are a research project and website which hosts a game of virtual futures markets, but about trends and ideas rather than goods, and using pretend money instead of the real thing. The idea is to use the market framework to elicit distributed intelligence about emerging trends. An MS Word handout is also available that explains how these markets work.
