This minute podcast features an interview with Evelyn Kay Ting, Assistant Vice President for Learning Environments at Empire State College SUNY. The conversation was recorded at the EDUCAUSE 2008 Annual Conference, where Evelyn Kay Ting presented the session, "Changing to a New CMS: Short-Term Pain or Long-Term Suffering?" How do you move a thousand courses and 350 faculty, as well as countless processes and procedures, from one CMS to another? Also, how do you go about managing the yearly upgrades? We'll share our conversion and upgrade experiences: what worked, what didn't, and what we would do differently next time. Evelyn Ting is Assistant Vice-President for Learning Environments at Empire State College, a liberal arts college of the State University of New York (SUNY) serving adult learners. Her areas of responsibility include all academic technology services including instructional design consultation, multimedia development, electronic library services, student and faculty help-desk, CMS administration, and support for distance learning. Ms. Ting holds an MBA from Georgia State University and received her Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
