Hartman, Vice Provost for Information Technologies and Resources at the University of Central Florida. Joel Hartman is also the recipient of the 2008 EDUCAUSE Leadership Award. His speech is entitled, "Confessions of a Digital Immigrant." Most of us have come to our positions in information technology as what Marc Prensky would call "digital immigrants." We descended from, and spend most of our time in, a primarily analog world, yet we have the responsibility to create and lead a primarily digital world.
