jbackon's blogEducation & Technology ReflectionsCreated by Joel D. Backon (Choate Rosemary Hall) on July 5, 2005
Welcome to my education and technology blog. I would like to focus on uses of technology that will help students and teachers to improve teaching and learning. I'll begin by suggesting that many current applications of technology in schools do not improve teaching and learning, but may increase student engagement and improve attitude. I'll also suggest that until technology tools are tied to pedagogy, student brain functions, and learning styles, we will not realize improvements in teaching and learning as a result of technology tools. Finally, let me suggest that we have not developed an integrated approach to the use of technology in education that will provide a scaffolding for individual teacher and student use. Thoughts?
