Hi There! Let's all tag together!Created by James Bradley (University of Houston) on February 6, 2006
Good morning and welcome! My name is Jim Bradley and I'm the Web Technologies manager at the University of Houston. I've been at UH in various IT roles for more than 20 years and I'm delighted that EDUCAUSE has made this platform available. It is interesting that they are using "Folksonomy" for the tagging phenomenon made popular at sites like Flickr and de.licio.us. I was familiar with both sites before I had the pleasure of attending Web 2.0 in San Francisco last fall but I am more and more convinced that tagging is the key to the useful internet of the future with easily flowing user created content. Without tagging I don't think it will be possible to make sense of millions of RSS feeds and such. More later.... j ***
