Web Seminar, From Desktops to Data Centers: Sustainable IT at Stanford, presenter Joyce Dickerson, director, sustainable IT, Stanford University, will describe how Stanford has framed these efforts, what specific projects it is embarking on, and how it calculates both ROI and payback for each initiative it deploys. The embodied energy and lifecycle of the materials used in the design, manufacture and reuse and recycling of equipment and components are also discussed.
This course was prepared for the Australian Computer Society as part of a professional postgraduate program, globally accredited in conjunction with other national professional bodies. The course was first delivered via the Internet using e-learning techniques, in January 2009.
The Australian National Unviersity is offering a masters level course, using the same materials from July 2009: "Green ICT Strategies COMP7310".
Other institutions may wish to contribute content for the course.
