Tune In May 19: Where Is the Open Education Movement Going?Created by Peggy Kurkowski (EDUCAUSE) on May 12, 2009
What does the concept of "open education" mean in 2009? Is it simply a matter of sharing learning content, or is a broader set of principles and practices called into question as well? Where is the most interesting activity happening, and what are the biggest challenges? In this free May 19 EDUCAUSE Live! Web Seminar, Where Is the Open Education Movement Going?, presenters Brian Lamb, manager of emerging technologies, office of learning technology, University of British Columbia, and David Wiley, associate professor of instructional psychology and technology, Brigham Young University, will pose these questions to the co-organizers of the 2009 Open Education Conference (August 12–14 in Vancouver, British Columbia): David Wiley, Scott Leslie, Chris Lott, and other mystery guests. Lamb and Wiley will field live questions from participants. Those unable to attend may wish to visit the archives after the event or browse related EDUCAUSE resources on Open Access, Open Content, Open Educational Resources, and Openness.
