Florida CARES initiative for Katrina victims

The Florida CARES initiative – Coordinated Assistance to Resume Educational Studies – allows students in the hurricane-struck areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to continue their education in Florida’s K-12 public schools and public and private community colleges and universities until they can return to their own schools or post-secondary institutions.

We promise a quick response to accommodate their needs. We want the students to stay in school, and we want their families to have the peace of mind to know their son or daughter will continue their education, regardless of the tragedy that surrounds them now.”
