thapgood's blogSlideShowPro: Great gallery for student and faculty workCreated by Tom Hapgood (University of Arkansas) on February 23, 2006
As we re-design the University of Arkansas Department of Art Web site, we've decided to use SlideShowPro as a means of showing our (faculty) work as well as the student work. Here it is in development. It's a great Flash software, easy to implement and very customizable and the design is quite strong. SlideShowPro is $20 and as extendable as needed. Although it doesn't solve the problem of gathering student and faculty work and keeping it updated on the site, it's very much worth the money.
University Web-based software experienceCreated by Tom Hapgood (University of Arkansas) on February 3, 2006
I've been involved in several large-scale projects at the university level (listed below) that have resulted in a Web-based software, used by students, faculty and staff mostly in Fine Arts. For all or most of them I was the chief architect and project manager as well as art director and even designer/coder. These projects were completed at the University of Arizona while I worked in the College of Fine Arts' Treistman Center for New Media. I'd love to collaborate or consult with anyone from other universities as they go into building Web-based applications.
