Getting Ready for National Cyber Security Awareness Month (October 2009)

As many of you know, October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The National Cyber Security Alliance along with the Department of Homeland Security and the MS-ISAC (Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center) are the main drivers behind promoting the month and getting everyone involved.

This year the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) has worked to make being involved even easier, with a new website that includes:

• Endorsement Forms:Organizations, companies, and government agencies can show their commitment to cyber security by endorsing October 2009 as National Cyber Security Awareness month. Endorsers can have their logo and a web link posted on NCSA's website. The endorsement form can be completed online.
• Customizable Posters: For the first time, there is a special poster for the month that is customizable with a logo or a message to help promote local activities.
• A Wide Variety of Media Tools: Other information and resources include Web banners, brochures, and safety tips to help spread the word about how Americans can protect themselves and our Internet infrastructure.
• Event Calendar: The NCSA keeps a robust calendar of National Cyber Security Awareness Month events and welcomes submissions through a new online form.

As always all NCSA materials, endorsements, and event listings are free. Materials have been designed for easy downloading and repurposing. Contact NCSA if you need graphic files suitable for printing.
