Training remotely using online videos

The challenge we faced was to convey information to a diverse group of people.
We wanted to use the opportunity offered by online videos, to make a more effective communication.
Knew you would not normally read technical manuals, and also knew that the level of awareness of

different users is not uniform. Some people even are not handled very well using computers.
Most individuals are reluctant to read technical manuals. Even the level of knowledge on the subject

is not uniform in the universe of users. Some people do not efficiently handle a computer and this is an important element in this process.

The challenge was: We had to create a "tutorial serie" of videos that could be watched independently.

Each of these videos should be a clear demonstration of particular concept.
Initially we attempt to explain each concept and the next series of videos try to guide the user through the use of the software.
The software (Mp3Gain PRO Mp3Doctor PRO) is an audio normalizer, with some additional very specialized functions.
Concepts to the topic, such as understanding what is the bitrate or samplerate, etc. are difficult to explain by means of a written document.

Knowing that the possibility of using audiovisual media is a reality, we decided to try to create this series of videos.

In the following posts we will explain the difficulties we encountered and how resolved. Therefore started from the idea that videos should be demonstrative and engaging, both visually and aurally.

It was necessary to find a set of vide editing tools that allow us to perform a professional production, but we need tools that could be used easily. We will also comment about this particular point in next posts.

Today i will finish this introduction pointing to one of the videos.

One of the more complicated thing to do is develope a well produced online video.

Most people thing they need a professional video trained staff to do it, but there is a way to do it without having a big budget.

In my case, my plan was to create some short video in fist place, that could be used as a presentacion-leading to all the videos.

I want it to be modern, with many movements, not static.

I found BluffTitler. Its not free, but i does it job very well.

2 things make me recommend this tools, no matter is not free.

1.- Its VERY powerfull and let the creator develope complex and stunning videos.

2.- The use and interface is REALLY very simple. You do not need to learn a 300 pages manual (like Adobe products). In a few hours playing with this tool, you will be doing pretty amazing stuff.

Look at some screenshots:

Click on any of the links and you will be able to watch some examples of what can be done (fast and easy) with this nice tool:

Example 4

In a next post i will go deeper in this subject of making videos for online training.
